One of the more common questions that gets asked is “why is waxing better than shaving?” Well this question can be answered many ways, but it is probably best to concentrate on the benefits of waxing over shaving as far as an aesthetic point of view.  There are aspects of waxing that people are going to find as negatives, and there is really no way around them, but we believe that if you are considering the reasons that you are waxing, then the positives outweigh the negatives.  For this discussion, lets just get the negatives out of the way first.

Waxing hurts. There is no way to sugar coat this one.  Watch any Youtube video or talk to anyone who has ever been waxed and you are going to get the same comical routine about pain that has been done a million times before.  People are going to make the painful faces and go on and on about it being excruciating, but most people who have been waxing instead of shaving for a while understand that it does hurt, but not so much that it is unbearable.  As a matter of fact, the entire process of professional waxing was built around the development of a procedure that would minimize the pain as much as possible.  This is why the movements that a Waxpert uses to remove the wax are so quick, in order to reduce the amount of time that your body feels the pain associated with the pulling out of the hair.  In a nutshell, the area that you are having waxed is going to have a lot to do with how much it hurts, but no areas is going to be unbearable.  As you get more used to waxing, it will actually hurt less as the follicle will not be as deeply rooted.

You have to let your hair grow in to get a good wax.  This is true, and you do have to let your hair grow in longer than shaving in order to effectively pull it out.  While this is a drawback, the fact that waxing lasts far longer with a completely smooth appearance is the opposing standpoint.  You may have to let it grow in, but you will look completely smooth for a far longer time than if you shave.

Now lets talk about why waxing is better than shaving.  This is a pretty easy discussion to have in that the reason for waxing in the first place is to appear cleaner and have smoother skin.  Waxing provides this for a far longer period and in a far more effective way than shaving.  The hair being taken out by the root means that it will grow back in finer, giving you a smoother appearance even after you are letting it grow in.  Waxing also eliminates ingrown hairs more effectively, and completely eliminates the nicks and cuts that shaving gives you.  From an appearance standpoint, waxing is a far better bet than shaving, and anyone who has had a good wax will be able to tell you that.
